Our Farm House Airbnb in France

Our Farm House Airbnb in France

Everything we could ever want from living on a farm in the French countryside.

Pray for Paris

It’s been a crazy few days over here for our crew. We were in Paris on Friday, and decided to leave just hours before the attacks. I don’t think I’ve ever been so grateful in all my life. What a horrible tragedy. We have no TV out here in the country and so I’m getting bits of news on my phone. What I’ve seen is heartbreaking and it feels like 9/11 all over again! I am just praying that this is the end of the attacks and for everyone involved to find peace.

I am lucky enough to have dear friends and family who care about us and received over 100 texts, phone calls, Facebook messages and Instagram comments making sure we were all ok. I feel so much love and gratitude for my circle of humans, even the ones I’ve never physically met. The internet is really an amazing thing.

I have weeks worth of catching up on here, but I wanted to share a bit of our home here in the French countryside. We found this place on Airbnb and it is lovely and remote and just what our family needs right now. Paul has left for a business trip back in the states, so we are here in France floundering with our French. Already missing my translator! We have only been here for 2 days and already we’ve fed the chickens and pigs, collected eggs and our host took my older two to a dairy to pick up milk where they saw 2 day old calves! Abbi took some pictures for me.

Le Petit Logis Dog

We’ve adopted the family dog! He loves me since I fed him chicken from the back door of the house! I know the way to a dog’s heart!

We’ve got pigs and chickens too! So much fun! The kids are helping with the chores and having a blast!

Our host is amazing and has bikes of all sizes so all my kids have a bike to ride, which they’ve really been missing!

But the best part about France so far is definitely the FOOD! I’m saving that for a whole separate post, but I’m giving you a sneak peak! I can’t wait to share more of our life in France for the next month!

So glad to hear that you and your family are safe. My heart goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones. I’m so glad you are all having so much fun…. especially with farm animals. Yesterday my 4 kiddos were outside playing and planting apple seeds from the apples they ate 🙂 and they could not stop talking about having a farm some day. Growing up I always wanted a farm. Not sure if that is what I want now. It is way too much work and you can never travel. Enjoy your time and all those animals. Be blessed. 🙂

Thank you Irina. It is such a tragedy. I am glad we left when we did. The world is a scary place no matter where we are! Bad things can happen anywhere I guess. I totally agree about the farm! My parents have a small farm and they can’t even leave for 1 day without having a neighbor or friend or hired help do something for them like taking care of the animals or doing the watering. I just don’t know if I could be tied down like that. It’s fun to live here, but not have to do all the work and be able to take a day trip when we want to! haha!
